Introducing Amine's Corner
Welcome to our new newsletter. We’ve improved the layout and we’re adding a few new features to make this newsletter as engaging and useful to you as possible. First up, we’d like to announce a new article, ‘Amine’s Corner’ where our General Manager and co-founder, Amine Khechfé will let you know what’s going on in the mailing industry and take you along as he visits customers and post offices around the world.

In today’s world of social networking and tweeting on one side and being too busy to breathe on the other, I thought it would be interesting and hopefully fun to have a place where I could share my take on the state of the mailing and shipping industry as a “veteran” who’s been around for 20+ years now (how time flies!)

Most of the news today seems focused on the bad economy and the declines in mail volume.  I guess that sells better than some of the creative innovations in the postal industry and the positive growth in shipping from eCommerce that we are also seeing.  I plan to introduce some fun insights into the news, reinforce some of the innovations and maybe present how some of the changes could be affecting your business. Visit Amine’s Blog.

If you have a question for Amine or would like his input on a mailing industry topic, he’d love to hear from you. Send a comment or question to Amine.

Shipping season is just around the bend. So we thought it would be a good idea to remind everyone about our integrated Endicia Parcel Insurance. If you currently don’t use insurance because you think it will be too expensive or too much of a hassle, you should look into our insurance.

Everything is built into the software interface; just select Endicia Parcel Insurance and declare the value of the package you want to insure when you print the label. There are no forms to fill out unless you need to file a claim and that is handled right on our website. You can pull a list of insured items from our website at any time.

It’s also cheaper than USPS Insurance. Discounts can go as high as 66% depending on your service level. All of your insurance charges are debited on a monthly basis from the same credit card or checking account you use to pay your service fee and you’ll get a monthly receipt of the charges.

Endicia Parcel Insurance is easy to use, easy to track and economical. Many of our customers swear by it, particularly for international shipping (it can even be used with First-Class Mail International which USPS Insurance does not cover). For more information, please visit our feature page on Endicia Parcel Insurance.

  Harry's Hints
Harry Whitehouse, our Chief Technical Officer and co-founder started our support files with his popular Harry’s Hints user guides and in honor of that tradition, we’re renaming our technical tips section back to Harry’s Hints. We’re also opening this section up to questions from our readers. So if there’s anything you’d like to know about our software or services, visit the Ask Harry link below and your question could be featured in an upcoming issue.

Next Day Carrier Pickup is a great service the US Postal Service offers free to any customer shipping at least one expedited package in that pick up. You can schedule a carrier pickup right from your account page. Our Tech Note on this service gives you all of the information you need to schedule pickups any time. It’s a great time saver when your shipping volume grows.

  Customer Spotlight
Customer Spotlight: UPakNShip While many of our customers are auction sellers, some of them have branched out into selling products to auction sellers. In 2003, Cori O’Steen realized that she wasn’t the only seller who needed quality packaging materials at a reasonable price. Starting with just one case of poly mailers, O’Steen built UPak N Ship into a business that now ships 75 to 150 orders of packaging material a day. Learn more about the business and how Endicia saves them time and helps them deliver on their commitment to speedy delivery.
